Renewable energy with Yingli Solar – a key solar power project in China
Headquartered in Baoding, China, and with over 6,000 employees and more than 10 branch offices, worldwide, Yingli Solar is a prominent solar energy company and one of the largest vertically integrated manufacturers of photovoltaic solar modules.
In 2009, the Chinese Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the National Energy Administration of the National Development and Reform Commission approved a project titled “Golden Sun,” which helps China’s manufacturers of solar cells to improve solar power system development and construction. The aim of the project is to speed up the construction of solar farms. China’s government is committed to building solar plants with a 500 MW capacity in the next 3–5 years. Yingli Solar is one important contractor with the Golden Sun project, with an agreement with the government for delivery of 100 MW.
