Operations

We strive for operational excellence.

Towards world-class manufacturing

Efficient and well organized Operations are essential for us at Ensto to exceed our customers' expectations. It is not enough to improve things once. Improvement in business needs to be seen as a continuous effort.

Ensto Operational Excellence (EOX) program was launched back in 2010 to strive Ensto Operations towards world-class manufacturing with the set of selected Lean Management initiatives. The journey has not ended: we have defined world-class manufacturing at Ensto as continuous improvement in quality, efficiency, delivery capability and flexibility.

One of the most important aspect of the EOX is the empowerment and involvement of our people. Respect and building people are at the heart of EOX. Every person working on all levels of the organization are contributing and giving their valuable input for the EOX on daily basis. This also means that everyone is working towards the world-class manufacturing and supporting Ensto’s strategic targets.

In order to achieve our goals, we use a selected set of LEAN-initiatives:

5S

A method for organizing workplaces, a base for continuous improvement and our "visiting card".

War Room

A core method for continuous improvement.

Andon

A signalization method for an immediate response regarding process or quality issues.

Ensto Equipment Effectiveness

A method for improving the effective use of machines: Shortening setup times, decreasing cycle times, and eliminating machine downtimes.

Preventive Maintenance

A method for reducing machine failures.

PULL

The basic steering method for the main material flows. Replenishments are made against a real demand from the downstream.
