Ensto has invested three million euros in the unique silicone molding technology of the Estonian plant. The turnover of underground network accessories increased significantly last year, and the company aims to more than double the production volume of silicone molding in the next three years.
In Estonia, Ensto's increasing focus is on underground products for electrical distribution networks. Previously the company invested 2 million euros in the development of the sector and established a top-of-the-field production infrastructure in Keila. Last year's investment of 3 million euros was aimed at the continued increase of production volumes and effective silicone molding technology in order to provide world-class cold shrink underground cable accessories solutions for global customers.
According to Kaarel Suuk, the Managing Director of Ensto Ensek, the new investments expand the company’s export further from Europe and Nordic countries. "The investment made to develop a unique portfolio is so extensive that it is not feasible to limit the distribution to nearby markets. We target countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, and the USA on our export expansion roadmap. Going global with the product portfolio also means for Ensto a further and more in-depth export sales team development, with whom to search for new markets," said Suuk.
One of the company's core challenges is its growing technological competence. "At Ensto, we focus on our strengths – people. The company can only grow together with its employees. It is important that our innovation brings exciting new challenges to our people. Our priority is to increase our competencies and create highly qualified jobs," Suuk explained the company's plans.
Last year, Ensto celebrated its 30th year of operation in Estonia, during which the company contributed to the Estonian industrial sector and economy with responsible business activities. Ensto Ensek was awarded the title of “Foreign investor of the year” at the "Entrepreneurship Award 2021" competition, which was organized by the Estonian Business and Innovation Agency and the Estonian Employers' Confederation.
