Over 2000 trees planted, sitting and chatting around campfire, enjoying a great atmosphere with our partners and most importantly, another act accomplished to celebrate our 60 years anniversary.
Ensto Ensek AS and DHL Express Estonia Green Office teams joined their forces with a target to renew renewable energy stock in Estonia and globally by planting trees. The planning for this act started already in January when Ensto's Estonian Green Office team visited DHL Express office with benchmarking ideas – fast forward to April and both teams had their hands deep in the dirt in Püha village of Harku rural municipality in Estonia.
The day started with a lecture about necessary maintenance work in the forest and practical part about safe handling of tools (chainsaw, branch cutter). After lunch started the main action – planting of small spruce plants. Work was done in pairs, one digged the hole and the other planted the plant. During the break both teams sat around the campfire, drank hot tea and enjoyed some relaxing conversation with colleagues.
By the day’s end Ensto and DHL employees had planted well over 2000 trees. To top it all off the day was filled with smiling faces as everyone enjoyed the satisfaction of doing something good for the future all the while enjoying some fresh air.
For the next 60 years at least, these trees will grow and prosper in Püha.
