Ensto has founded a new company Ensto Elettrica srl in Milan, Italy and acquired new business technology from the Italian company Tegis srl. Tegis is a start-up and family company since 2003 with personnel of 4 people specialising in the development and manufacturing of cold shrink technology products for utility network construction materials. Before the transaction, Tegis has been a privately owned company by Mariani family. The acquisition is a strategic step for Ensto in becoming a significant European provider of utility network underground cable accessories.
Through the acquisition, Ensto aims to commercialize the products developed by Tegis through its sales networks, develop full offering of medium voltage cold shrink joints and terminations and produce products in its manufacturing site. Cold shrink technology is emerging in medium voltage joints and terminations due to its easy and fast installation. It completes Ensto's offering in medium voltage underground cable accessories where it until now has products based on heat shrink technology. Through this acquisition Ensto gets inside knowledge and decades’ long experience in cold shrink silicone technology and manufacturing.
