Commercial buildings are well suited to PIR technology. As well as stairwells and garages, commercial buildings usually include shared toilets, corridors, and technical rooms. All of these have varying amounts of traffic, and using PIR adds up to substantial savings. Many commercial buildings have the lights on 24 hours a day, all year round. In many cases this is a great waste of money. Also, with PIR, there is no chance of anyone forgetting to switch off the lights.
