Markku Wederhorn, President, Ensto Utility Networks

Markku Wederhorn started his Ensto career in February 2007 as he was appointed President of the Ensto Utility Networks business unit and member of Ensto Management Group.

Markku graduated from the Helsinki University of Technology with an M.Sc. in Electrical Engineering in 1982 and has worked in an international business environment throughout his career. He has held management positions for example, at Instrumentarium and, more recently, at Planmeca Group where he worked as Vice President, Digital Imaging and Applications Division, before joining Ensto.

During his career, Markku has gained experience in various duties in technology business environment, including product development, sales, marketing, business unit leadership and acquisition integration. He was involved in the electricity business during his time at Fiskars Power Systems, where he developed service support for uninterruptible power supplies.

Markku finds Ensto a well-run company with steady private ownership and a strong drive towards progress and growth as well as company values which he finds easy to “buy into”. Ensto’s international atmosphere offers a natural operating environment for persons like Markku who are used to working globally.

Markku and his wife have four children, two of whom still live at home in Nurmijärvi. He likes to spend his free-time exercising, swimming or skiing, and since he likes to be on the move, his summer hobbies include boating and motorcycling.
