Ensto Clampo Pro universal terminals are now certified according to the latest standards

Ensto Clampo Pro is a comprehensive universal terminal series for Al/Cu conductors of 2.5 – 240 mm². They are now certified according to the latest standards.

Suitability of copper conductors is verified according to the harmonized standard EN60947-7-1: 2009
Suitability of aluminium conductors is verified according to standard EN61238-1:2003

They are also UL- recognised and Gost R certified and suitable for exporting the switchboards/equipment to the US and Russia.

Certification for aluminium conductors

Ensto Clampo Pro terminals are short circuit tested class A terminals suitable for all aluminium connections. By choosing Ensto Clampo Pro terminals for your aluminium connection you make sure you always have the right terminals in use.

Connecting aluminium and copper conductors

Ensto Clampo Pro terminals can be used for both aluminium and copper conductors. If aluminium and copper touch each other – with just a little bit of humidity – an electrotechnical process called “galvanic corrosion” occurs. Galvanic corrosion means that the metals start to react to each other and ions start to move from the weaker metal to the stronger one. The weaker metal, in this case aluminium, is corroded. That can be prevented by using tin as abarrier - as tin doesn't cause galvanic corrosion with either metals.

Ensto Clampo Pro terminals’ conductive parts – the body and the screws – are made from tin-coated aluminium. The housing also has a partition wall (polyamide) between the conductors, to prevent the conductors from touching eachother under any circumstances.

Ensto to start cooperation with Volvo and Lemminkäinen in EV charging solutions

Ensto, Volvo and Lemminkäinen have started cooperation in order to ensure safe and easy charging for the buyers of chargeable vehicles.

Ensto, Volvo and Lemminkäinen have started cooperation in EV charging solutions. Volvo is launching the V60 Plug-in Hybrid, a chargeable diesel hybrid car, in early 2013. In order to ensure safe and easy charging for the buyers of chargeable vehicles, a cooperation was formed where Ensto manufactures Volvo-branded charging units and Lemminkäinen is responsible for checking the electrical grid, installation, and maintenance of the charging units.

The Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid is the first chargeable diesel hybrid on the market. Its driving range on electricity only is approximately 50 km, sufficient for the driving needs of many drivers’ everyday life. When the vehicle is used on electricity only, it consumes no fuel and produces zero carbon dioxide emissions. Ensto has designed and manufactured Volvo-branded charging units, where usability, safety and charging speed have been optimized. Ensto Chago charging units have been designed to suit different user demands and challenging outdoor use, both at home and in public locales. Volvo Health Check service is offered to all buyers of Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid cars. In this service, Lemminkäinen checks the property’s electrical grid and its functionality, recommends the most appropriate charging method, and installs the Ensto Chago charging units needed. “Growing collaboration and the increase in expertise in the market encourages the popularity of electric traffic, and it is therefore of great importance to Ensto. Good availability of products, information, and services lowers the threshold for starting to use an electric car,” says Allan Ahlgren, the director for EV charging solutions at Ensto.

Ensto Chago Pole

Ensto Chago Pole is a charging solution for normal electric-vehicle charging (16 A). The poles, available for both ground and wall mounting, are of durable, easy-to-clean stainless steel structure. A pole includes one or two 16 A power outlets and a watt-hour meter to measure the amount of energy obtained. As standard, the pole can be controlled remotely from, for example, a parking-ticket machine.

Ensto Chago Station

Ensto Chago Station is a stylish charging station for charging for a fee. It can be used for both normal (single-phase, 16 A) and fast charging (three-phase, 32 A). The station is made of robust materials, such as acid-proof steel, and it is easy to clean. This makes it ideal for demanding street-side installations.

The basic features of the Ensto Chago Station include the possibility of user identification (via an RFID card or a cellular phone) and a data link to external information systems over a GPRS connection or a RS485 cable.

Ensto Chago Point

The compact, wall-mounted Ensto Chago Point is ideal for locations that require multiple charging points, such as large workplace and apartment-building parking facilities and parking garages. It is a great choice for This charging point was awarded the Red Dot design award in 2012.

Ensto offers products tested according to the EN 50397-2 standard for medium voltage covered conductors. The new standard includes a number of demanding tests, which guarantees the performance and the quality of the tested accessories.
Ensto’s watertight accessory range for medium voltage includes:

EN 50397-2 – more demanding, more extensive

New international overhead line standard EN50397-2 defines test requirements for the accessories used with covered conductors (PAS/BLL). EN 50397 standard defines the requirements for covered conductors, EN 50397-2 defines, for its part, requirements for accessories used with these conductors. Compared to earlier national standards, EN 50397-2 is substantially more demanding and covers the accessories designed for covered conductors more extensively. This adds reliability for the CC system.

The new standard required Ensto to set more focus on product development. This resulted in a more reliable product family. The new accessories add corrosion resistance of installations and lengthen their lifecycle also in demanding circumstances. Changes to the Ensto Cubo O, C and W enclosure series

The biggest sizes of Ensto Cubo O, C and W enclosures now have more screw towers on both sides of the long side’s centre line. It is now possible to divide the enclosure into two sections or install a DIN-rail on the long side.

We have developed our thermoplastic enclosure series Ensto Cubo O, C and W. The biggest sizes – 300 x 600 mm and 400 x 600 mm – now have more screw towers on both sides of the long side’s centre line. It is now possible to divide the enclosure into two sections using separate mounting plates or DIN-rails. In addition, a DIN-rail can be installed on the long side. A new DIN-rail for the 600 mm side is also available.

In response to our customer’s needs, we have also developed a new base size – 400 x 400 mm – for the Ensto Cubo O, C and W enclosure series. The size will be available with two standard depths, 132 mm and 187 mm. With a 55 mm extension frame, alternative depths can be created. The new size will be available in the 4th quarter of 2010.

New connectors and cable lugs for medium voltage

The connectors and cable lugs are suitable for medium voltage cables with plastic or paper insulation.

Ensto has replaced the connectors in the 25-240 mm2 medium voltage cable accessory kits with its new self-produced SMJ connectors and SML cable lugs. The connectors and cable lugs are suitable for medium voltage cables with plastic or paper insulation.
The connectors and cable lugs are available for sale also as individual products.

The body of the connectors and cable lugs is made of tin plated aluminium, the screws of tin plated brass and the adapter for tightening the screws is made of aluminium and always included in the package.

Thanks to the tin plating the new connectors and cable lugs are corrosion tolerant and suitable for both aluminium and copper conductors.
The body of the connectors is equipped with a separating wall, which in transition joints prevents the oil from paper insulation to harm plastic insulation. The parting wall makes it also possible to connect copper and aluminium conductors without causing a galvanic corrosion.

SMJ connectors and SML cable lugs comply with the requirements of IEC61238-1 standard.

ECO601 control device – easy energy efficiency for property control

The ECO601 is an easy-to-use monitoring and control device for new construction or existing properties. The device’s control functions are based on status: away, arriving, and present. All devices connected to the ECO601 can be set to operate according to the requirements of these statuses. The device can be controlled locally by means of the local button and remotely by telephone call or SMS. This control device is ideally suited to homes and holiday properties alike. The ECO601 is an updated version of the ECO600 remote control device.

Carefree control

Using the ECO601 device is easy. Control is based on three situations: away, arriving, and present. Control commands are given locally from the device button and remotely by calling or sending a text message. Five different mobile phone users can be configured for the device; these users are entitled to control the device remotely and will receive information on any alerts.

Control of other devices as well

On the basis of the situation, the ECO601 device controls any connected devices, including heating and ventilation equipment, air source heat pumps, socket outlets, water valves, lighting – whatever you choose to include.

Alerts when required

The device also monitors the property while its occupants are not present. Various alarm systems can be connected to the device, used to monitor for power cuts or break-ins as well as issue fire and humidity alerts. The ECO601 uses the temperature sensors, included in the delivery, to monitor temperatures in the building.

Always in control

The ECO601 device keeps you updated with the latest news on your building: you can use remote control to enquire about its current status, be notified of alerts, control statuses, and request history data on previous incidents and temperatures. The device’s default features are pre-programmed.

EnstoNet introduces new installation coupler family

A family of new installation distribution blocks is being introduced to complement the EnstoNet installation coupler range. The new family is made up of 1-phase and 3-phase distribution blocks that are suitable for use in installations of light fittings and socket outlet groups.

There are five different 1-phase distribution blocks. The white and black for mechanical coding A (pole markings 1, Earth, N). Blue for mechanical coding B (pole markings A, B, C). Gray (pole markings a+, Earth, b-) and red for mechanical coding C (pole markings 1, Earth, N).

There are three types of 3-phase distribution blocks. White and black for mechanical coding A and red for mechanical coding C. All 3-phase distribution blocks have the same pole markings: the through-passing 3-phase connector pair has the pole markings 1, 2, Earth, N, 3 and the couplers branching out for light fittings or sockets outlets are marked 1, Earth, N.

The distribution blocks can be attached onto, for example, an installation plate with the mounting pad that is supplied with the couplers. The part is attached with four screws. The distribution blocks will partly fit inside a lighting rail with a minimum width of 70 mm, in which case the separate mounting pad will be unnecessary.

Mini posts are suitable for spaces where visual obstacles are not wanted. You can hide the short two-sided aluminium mini posts for example under desks and meeting room tables. The pole houses both normal and data sockets. There are two sizes available, the 630 mm mini and even smaller 360 mm.

Socket boxes

Ensto socket boxes are an easy and cost-efficient way to provide electricity to office work spaces. The socket box fixed to the desk keeps cables neatly bunched and can be connected directly to the prefabricated EnstoNet installation system. The socket box range includes appliances that have socket outlets for normal electricity and boxes housing both normal and data sockets. All socket boxes are made of either aluminium or PVC.

Product update for Tash frost protection cables

Tash frost protection cables are being renewed. The rubber sheath of the cable has been replaced with cross-linked plastic material. Polyester tape has been added under the sheath to make stripping of the cable easier.

Otherwise the structure of the cable remains as before. Outer sheath of the cable is resistant to chemicals and UV radiation. Technical features of the products and applications remain mainly. Also product codes and numbers are the same as before.

The Tash single-conductor cables are designed for keeping outdoor areas, pipes and containers icefree. Max. loading 30 W/m (concrete), 25 W/m (sand), 20 W/m (pipe surface). Max. voltage 500 V. Min. installation temperature -10 °C.

New KE connectors

Ensto’s improved KE connectors with new smart design are ideal accessories to be used e.g. in branching boxes and lamp post fixtures due to the quick and reliable installation.

The KE connector range covers aluminium conductors of 10 – 50mm² and copper conductors of 1,5 – 35mm².The connectors are available in two different versions per size range: a four and a six wire version. The KE10.504N is a blue connector especially made for connecting neutral conductors.

The body of a KE connector is made of tin plated aluminium and the screws of nickel plated brass. The connector cover is made of transparent polycarbonate plastic in order to facilitate and speed up the installation.

Ensto’s KE connectors have been tested to meet the requirement of the IEC 61238-1 and EN 60947 standards.

SLJ Cable Connectors to replace SJ Connectors

Ensto´s new SLJ connectors with shear head bolts for low voltage will replace our former SJ-connectors gradually by end of March 2010.

SLJ 1.27, 2.27 and the joint kits including the new connectors will be on sale by end of November.
SLJ 3.47, 4.47 and the joint kits including the new connectors will be on sale in the beginning of the year 2010.

Radar luminaires to complement the motion detection lighting line

The new series of motion detector luminaires based on radar technology complement our current PIR product family especially well. You can select the ideal motion detector luminaire for all spaces based on the installation location and use.

Using motion detection for lighting control is an inexpensive and reliable way of saving energy and reducing your electricity bill. The right amount of light where and when it is needed is an excellent starting point for your lighting design.

Motion detection in lighting solutions has conventionally been carried out via infrared technology, but in the last few years, detectors based on high-frequency technology have appeared alongside infrared devices. High-frequency technology has long been used in, for instance, automatic doors.

High-frequency, or radar, technology is ideally suited to installation sites in which motion is directed toward the detector or detector luminaire. Unlike PIR technology, radars respond to movements behind thin walls and also to visual obstacles, a factor that should be considered in the installation.

Our radar and PIR detectors are mutually interchangeable, making it possible to convert a PIR luminaire into a radar luminaire – or vice versa – even after installation, simply by replacing the detector unit.

Ensto Cubo S thermplastic enclosures in new sizes

Ensto Cubo S is a series of small to medium-size thermoplastic enclosures suitable for demanding environments. A total of 92 new enclosure alternatives in 19 new sizes have been added to the series in response to customer demand.

Following the product update, the Ensto Cubo S series has:

Two totally new enclosure sizes (100 mm x 100 mm x 35/60 mmand 125 mm x 250 mm x 125 mm)
Two base depths (25 and 50 mm)
One new cover depth (10 mm).

Cubo S enclosures suit perfectly for OEM solutions, e.g. drivers and controllers or PCBs. The new lower enclosures, combined with a new low cover alternative, add to the variety of uses of the enclosures. The enclosures require less space, which is a clear advantage when enclosing electronics.
